Luke has graduated! We couldn't be prouder. He is doing well enough that doc thought he was ready to move upstairs to the Graduate NICU, which is only a Level 2 NICU! Now that he's up there, Mrs. Robinson better keep her filthy paws off of him.Our little chunky monkey is up to a whopping 3lb 6oz. They feed him 18cc every 3 hr and will move that up to 22cc by tomorrow morning. Sarah and I were pretty excited at these HUGE numbers, but in case you were wondering, 30cc = 1oz. Also, they are moving him from the 20 Cal formula to the 22 Cal formula. That's 22 Cal in 1oz, so the dude is munching like 15 Cal at a time, or to put that in perspective 1/36 a Big Mac. I'm full just thinking about it.
Still no sign of the poo, but his stomach is looking good so they aren't too worried yet. He's getting 2L of room air O2 through his canulla and hasn't had too many Bradys in the last day. Also, he's so huge now that he gets to wear clothes. Check out the suave shirt. Don't hate the player, hate the game.
Below is a pic of his old digs downstairs in Level 3. They basically just rolled him upstairs as is. So nothing really changed, except it's a little quiter and the view from the new window is better. He was pretty lucky to be by the window downstairs as 2 out of the 4 rooms don't have windows. Also, a little fun fact for you, St. Luke's Level 3 NICU capacity is 30 babes, and the Level 2 is 50! Crazy. It was a little sad leaving the old abode as Sarah had gotten attached to all the great nurses... but I'm sure she'll have no problem reattaching to the new ones :)
peace.
