pumpkins and procreation

Hi. Last weekend was a typical fun-packed extravaganza. Saturday morning we went to our usual pumpkin patch which has become a virtual amusement park with all the hoopla they have there. Grace had to ride the horsies (aka Carousal). Mac had to ride the roller coaster. Huge, huh.

After that, we headed up to Estes Park to try and catch the last of fall leaves and elk humping. Although we missed the leaves, we were close on the latter as there was a herd of ~50 elk and a couple of the dudes were fighting. Always a good time. We also took a stroll around Bear Lake where Mac and Grace had a blast with the snow. The Raymonds and Marta joined us for the day. A good time all around.

In other news, Luke has started with the real food again. He's not gagging this time around, so I think the kid is finally ready to be weaned. Grace gave me a good laugh tonight as she tried to teach the family how to wink. (winking Grace pic below is from Elkhorn football in Sept) . It's funny because Sarah and MacKenzie can't and a winking 2-yr-old is a comical novelty.

Here's all the pics from this weekend. Enjoy.

Go Rockies!!!

peace.

It's about $#$%* time!

Ya, ya... it's been months. I know, I'm sorry. Well, I'm back and I promise to make this a more regular thing now. So, what's happened since last time? Well, I won't even try to fill you in on all the details... that'd take forever. I will say Luke is doing awesome as you can see. His 6mo doc appointment went groovy (which was last month already). He's catching up quick. He's on the charts already, 60% height, 20% weight. So, way better than I expected and all signs are good. He's taking his sweet time on eating real food, but he'll get there soon hopefully.

The girls continue to grow like weeds. We've entered a new phase of our lives where Sarah has officially become a soccer mom. Yup, Mac started soccer this year. It's absolutely a riot to watch and she's loving it.
Grace is still her spunky self. She loves to get into trouble, but it's hard to stay mad at her for long.

So, Sarah's back in the work force and really loves teaching high school. She's not coaching this year, yet we still feel like there's no time. Same old for me... work's kept me plenty busy, but it's good. We just got back from a trip from Moab where Mandy's new boy toy, Matt, convinced me to do 24 hr of Moab with him (mtn bike race for those wondering). It was a blast and I hope to do it again in the future. Marta (Mandy's Slovakian counterpart) joined us on the trip. Her, Sarah, and the kids were great support and got to spend an afternoon in Arches Natn'l Park, which was gorgeous. Oh, and Matt's living with us as he's saving money to see Mandy in Slovakia for a month (can you say whipped much?). Clearly I jest, they're fools for each other.

Not enough pics for the first post in forever you say... Well, as Mick Jagger said, "You can't always get what you want." But, you can get all our latest pics on my web albums:

Moab
Race For the Cure, Husker Girls
Parties

Ya, I turned 30 in one of those parties. If you're reading this, you should've been there. It was a good time. And no, it doesn't mean I've "grown up" any. Sarah still has 4 kids to raise... and a collective sigh for Sarah, poor Sarah.

Still not satisfied? Hold on to your horses, I'll post again in a few with more pics.

Oh, and Go Huskers! Ya, that's right... I'm still a fan. Osborne can't walk on water, but he can't do much more damage. I'll give Callahan one more year to shake out all the poor coaching before I insist he go too. But I won't cry if he goes now.

And don't forget to cheer for the Rox in Rocktober! Crazy!! I'm worried the Armageddon may be upon us. The Huskers are rancid and the Rockies are in the World Series with ease!

peace.
