Sorry, been a while. A lot has happened since the last post. Yes, Mac learned to ride a bike. Randomly, about 2 weeks ago she came home and said she wanted to take her training wheels off. I was gone, but Matt obliged. She did good, but needed somebody to balance her the whole time. Her 2nd time out was yesterday with Papa W. They went around the block and Papa had to run to keep up, but still helped her balance all the way. So, Mac was dying to get out again and I took her around the block today, only this time she rode all straight lines herself as you can see. She did great and even started to stop and turn corners on her own. Hugeness... we now have a kid who plays soccer and rides a bike. Crazy... and I still want to play with Transformers. I better grow up in a hurry here.
Other huge news is that Luke is in the process of growing 2ish teeth (2 on the bottom and maybe another 2 on the top...). I mentioned before that Luke started to eat non-bottle food, but that was a blatant lie as he only did that twice (which happened to be that blog entry). Since then, he's regressed and wouldn't touch any real food (or even poo baby food). We were getting a bit worried that he'd have to have that food pipe surgery. But much to our relief, bubba has started to pound baby cereal and fruit for 3 meals now. I think it's going to take this time. Another huge milestone (ya, $50/wk on formula... HUGE milestone). He's also rolling over on a regular basis and tried out the door jumper (huge hit).
In other news, Turkey Day was fantastic. I don't remember the last time I spent more than 3 days off at home. Anytime we ever have any time off, we're always going somewhere. Most of the Wortman clan descended on our house for the weekend and it was great. We did spend actual Turkey Day in Lexington, NE but drove back here that night so we could be back for the big Husker game Fri. Wasn't that awesome?!?! No, not the game, Osborne's little meeting Sat morning. Please Pelini, save us! Don't get me wrong, I love Turner Gill, but I don't know if he's ready for the big time yet... and Pelini is a proven stud coach.
Ok, enough Husker talk... I can't imagine living in NE now, are people getting any work done? Is the state just going to shut down until they hire the new coach? Ok... done for real now. I can't believe I haven't posted since pre-Halloween, so here's some pics for you (Mac's choice was princess and she chose witch for Grace). It was a lot of fun. They were giddy and hearing Grace fumble on "Tick or Teat" over and over again was good stuff.
I must say this dad stuff is turning out to be a pretty decent gig. I'm not going to lie, there are some days I want to puke on their face, poop on their arms, or just start whining obnoxiously in the middle of one of their movies... just so they can feel my pain. But overall, it's a blast.peace.
